My name is Keira, a.k.a Preteen Child, and I'm a thirteen-year-old girl. I'm not going to pretend that i'm completely normal, because let's face it, normal people are boring. Less likely to squeal at innappropriate moments, but boring. Actually, i'm not average, i'm not normal, but i'm not totally random or out-of-the-blue or wierd. Well o.k yes I am, but in a good way. :D
I guess the basics about me are that I live in Warwickshire (that's England for those of you who don't know), near Birmingham, I go to henley high, I have dark blonde hair which tries to be wavy but isn't able because I grow it too long, blue eyes and the kind of skin that freckles and burns but never gets even a moderate tan. i grew up in Hereford, Herefordshire, which is a city (well actually it's just a big town with a cathedral) near the Wales border. My parents split up when i was two years old, and they're pretty young. My dad, who is 34 and was 20 when i was born, lives in a small welsh village called Talybont-On-Usk. I go there every other weekend, and it's really great to have somewhere calm, slow, and just be there. So many people who I know never get to see the stars. and I don't mean as in look up and see a sky with quite a few stars sort of strewn up in the sky, I mean look up through the pitch-black night and see so many stars that you can't even begin to count them, see the milky way winding it's way through the sky. (Yes, i'm being poetic, live with it.)
Mum's place... Well it's a different story. She was 21 when I was born, and people sometimes mistake us for sisters. I don't see stars at night, I hear traffic. I spend too much time on the computer, and I get obsessed with a lot of things. My hobbies include reading, writing, going to the cinema with my clinically insane friends, sleepovers (with aforementioned clinically insane friends) and just generally enjoying life.
Well, I don't always enjoy life. I've got loads of amazin friends, but i'm not an It Girl. I'm not part of the group that bitch behind the backs of those who don't slap on make-up every day to school. That laugh and snort when I perform with my Gospel Choir group, after we've tried so hard, and done so much, they laugh in our faces because we tried. That ask patronising questions and make fun of anything they don't understand. Those people annoy me, but there are some who really upset me. i get a bus home from school, and there are people there who bully me. Most of them are really nice, but there's just these two freaks who decide that I need my life ruined.
So anyhow, I just rambled! I actually love my life, so put down the phone and don't call childline. In this blog I want to write about my day-to-day life, and show people exactly what it's like to be 13 years old in England with parents who aren't together, a stepdad who irritates the hell out of you, an older best friend who goes to another school, and not a hell of lot of money. 'Coz no-one really knows exactly how teenage girls are. Of course, our mothers know the basics, and, annoyingly, they're normally right, but there are so many people who think of teenage girls as complete airheaded bimbos who only care whether he's called yet, or ASBO slags with too much make-up or bleach-blonde hair. well, I'm not gonna lie, some ofthem are. But they're definately in the minority where I am, and I want to show you the other side to us.
Reviews are welcome, please tell me what you liked, what you didn't, and whether you even want me to carry on!
